The Landscape Within – Creativity Weekend

Reconnect with the fertile place of the imagination and explore your creative

nature over two days of walking, writing and painting. Learn to read the

stories of the landscape and find creative expression for your own story in

writing, poetry and painting.

Held over two days in the beautiful grounds of Fair Harvest, this retreat is

suitable for anyone who would like step deeper in to creative practice,

whether it be for the first time, or if you are an experienced walker, writer or

artist looking to rekindle the creative fires.

Reading Landscape – a guided walk along the river valley of Ellensbrook with

Jinni Wilson: anthropologist, guide, and writer working with landscape as a

means of reviving self and culture.

Writing the River Within – a poetry writing workshop with Miranda Aitken, poet

and musician whose work explores the river as a central motif in the life


Being in Landscape – a visionary and intuitive creative process which

employs the use of colour, word and symbol. Consolidate the learning and

inspiration gained this weekend with a simple two and a half hour painting

workshop withTania Davey painter, potter, sculptor and art teacher.

• The weekend will begin with an informal gathering on the evening of Friday

29 November.

• First workshop starts at 9am on Saturday morning, with workshops

concluding at around 2pm Sunday afternoon.

• There will be a dinner gathering/circle on Saturday evening, with the

opportunity to share stories, poems and songs.

• Lunch on Saturday and Sunday, and dinner on Saturday night are included.

Fair Harvest will be catering, so expect divine and delicious meals from

their amazing permaculture gardens! Please bring a shared meal on Friday


Cost – $290 per person

On this weekend you’ll be guided by facilitators who are passionate about

walking, writing, poetry, spoken word and visual art as powerful acts to

connect, heal, and give back to country and community.
