After what seems like forever, the transformation of the old shed is complete. The big northern windows and the Cyprus floor have turned it into a light and airy space and the new kitchen is just the thing we need for turning fresh food from the farm and garden into produce that we can store and jar up for future use or sell at the local market.
Over the last weeks we’ve been processing honey, olives and artichokes as well as making cheese, bread and yogurt. We’ve also had the occasional crepe breakfast and farm feast!
We warmed the new space with a big reunion party featuring a magnificent performance of the Lorax by the original crew that performed it years ago……….what a poignant story and always relevant (see the enthralled crowd in the pic).
This space is not just for our projects, it is open to hire for all relevant workshops, events and courses. The commercial kitchen is also available for groups and individuals to rent for processing produce and making beautiful, healthy, local food creations. See more about venue hire here.
A huge thanks to every one that’s been a part of the building, as with so many projects it’s taken more time and energy than we ever expected but now its done it feels so worth it.
Thanks Chloe for taking a great crowd photo.
